Tranquility, which is long lost in today's hectic modern cities, seems to be preserved on this age old island of Gozo and is the envy of visitors, many of whom return time and again to rent farm houses in this 'different world'.
Farmhouses are often converted farms and parts of them may be several hundred years old. Many of them have been enlarged or slightly altered to be able to comfortably host holiday makers. Others are relatively new. Alterations and extensions are always made carefully with particular attention to the preservation of the traditional Gozitan architectural features.
Farmhouses make ideal holiday homes for family holidays, but also for groups of friends wishing to spend time together. Most of them are 3 or 4 bed-roomed properties but some are larger and a few are smaller. Swimming pools are mostly used in summer but Farmhouses are ideal as holiday homes throughout the year. Their positions in the villages and country side are ideal starting points for several walks and mountain bike treks. The climate is usually much warmer than it is in central Europe and walking around the island of Gozo is extremely pleasant during Autumn, Winter and Spring.
Gozo
is a small island and nowhere is far away but since farmhouses are splattered
all around Gozo's countryside, they are never too close to the sea. Hiring a
car is recommended. Car hire rates in Malta are the cheapest in Europe. When
it's not too hot, one can easily walk or cycle from village to village but all
around Gozo there are quaint corners and micro beaches that cannot really be
discovered and enjoyed without the comfort of a hired car. Details and prices
