ABOUT THE COURSE:
The SSI Open Water Diver Course is your gateway to the underwater world! As the most popular entry-level certification, this course provides you with the knowledge and skills to dive confidently and safely. From exploring vibrant coral reefs to discovering sunken shipwrecks, becoming a certified diver opens the door to endless aquatic adventures.
Prerequisite:
No prior diving experience is required! Just basic swimming and good health.
Minimum Age: 10 years old.
Course Structure:
Knowledge Development: Learn the theory behind scuba diving, including dive planning, underwater communication, buoyancy control, and the use of dive equipment. Complete this portion online through e-learning and during academic sessions with your instructor.
Confined Water Sessions: Practice essential scuba skills in a controlled environment. These sessions focus on mastering equipment use, buoyancy, safety procedures, and underwater communication.
Open Water Dives: Complete four open water dives under the guidance of a professional instructor. Apply your skills in real dive conditions while exploring fascinating underwater environments.
Learn to assemble and care for your scuba gear.
Practice essential safety skills, such as buddy checks, emergency ascents, and navigation.
Gain confidence in your ability to dive independently with a buddy to a maximum depth of 18 meters (60 feet).
Explore open water environments while applying your new knowledge and skills.
Upon successful completion, you will earn the SSI Open Water Diver certification, which:
Allows you to dive independently with a buddy, worldwide, to a depth of 18 meters.
Serves as a foundation for more advanced dive training, such as the SSI Advanced Adventurer or specialty courses.
Empowers you to explore the underwater world with confidence and competence.
