Normoxic Reabreather in Malta

The RAID Normoxic Trimix Rebreather diver course is designed for those divers who are interested in exploring wrecks, deep caves, or other underwater environments that require extended bottom times at greater depths. If this is you, then Normoxic Trimix diving could be for you. However, Normoxic Trimix diving requires additional specialised equipment, and it should only be attempted by divers certified as a RAID Limited Trimix Rebreather Diver or equivalent. You must have logged a minimum of fifty hours using a CCR with at least twenty-five dives and twenty-five hours on the specific unit to be used on this course, and must show experience of a minimum of twenty dives deeper than thirty meters and at least ten dives that required staged decompression.

WHY CHOOSE GOZO FOR YOUR MOD 2 CCR COURSE?

Gozo is a popular destination for rebreather diver training as it offers a variety of dive sites suitable for different depth ranges required for the course. Some of the dive sites in Gozo that are ideal for Normoxic Trimix Rebreather depth dives include Blue Hole and The Chimney located in the Dwejra area, are popular for their unique underwater topography and offer depths of up to 60 meters. The Billinghurst Cave system, located off the coast of Gozo, offers a dive for experienced technical divers, with depths of up to 80 meters. Lantern Point is located on the north coast of Gozo, offers a series of caves and swim-throughs at depths of up to 60 meters

MOD 1 Level Rebreather in Malta

The RAID Limited Trimix Rebreather Diver program is designed for experienced divers who are seeking to develop their skills in using a specific rebreather unit for diving with trimix diluent. To enroll in the program, divers must meet certain prerequisites to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and experience to participate safely.

Firstly, divers must be a minimum of 18 years old to participate in the program. Additionally, divers must hold a RAID Deco 40 diver certification or equivalent, which demonstrates that they have the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct decompression dives.

In terms of diving experience, divers must have logged a minimum of 30 open water dives, with at least 25 hours underwater using open circuit scuba. At least five of those logged dives must have been to a depth of 30 metres, demonstrating the diver’s ability to handle the increased complexity associated with deeper dives.

For graduates of RAID’s Sport Rebreather Diver program, an alternative set of prerequisites is available. These students can upgrade to the Limited Trimix Rebreather Diver program once they have logged 20 hours or more on CCR, demonstrating their proficiency in using a rebreather unit for diving.

By ensuring that students meet these prerequisites, the RAID Limited Trimix Rebreather Diver program can provide a comprehensive and safe learning experience, helping divers to develop their skills and knowledge in using a rebreather unit with trimix diluent for advanced diving.
