This is the main start-off qualification and licences students to go on to do accompanied dives to 18 metres, some speciality courses and the Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver Course. The course consists of 5 modules of theory, 5 confined water training sessions and 4 open water dives. A multiple choice theory test is held once that the theory is completed. Children from the age of 10 can do this course and get certified to Junior Open Water Divers. They will initially be qualified to dive to 12m.
