The Maltese archipelago is made up of the main island Malta (316sq km – 27x14km – 550,000 people), Gozo (67sq km – 14x7km – 23,000 people), Comino (3.5sq km – 2 people) and a number of smaller uninhabited islands.

Malta is a country of the EU, a member of the SCHENGEN area and the EURO is the official currency.

Citizens of countries in the Schengen Area, European Union, and the United Kingdom may visit Malta as a tourist without a visa.

Malta International Airport (MLA) – The only airport in Malta is in LUQA in the southwest of Malta, then km (15-minute drive) from the capital city Valletta and  thirty km (45-minute drive) from the Cirkewwa ferry terminal in the North of Malta.
