TDI JJ-CCR Helitrox Diver

Price: € 1200

Take your CCR diving deeper and safer with the TDI JJ-CCR Helitrox Diver course. This program expands on your closed-circuit rebreather (CCR) training by introducing helium-based diluent gas, helping to reduce nitrogen narcosis and gas density for improved mental clarity and easier breathing at depth.

Training on the JJ-CCR, one of the most capable rebreathers available, you’ll learn how to safely plan and execute decompression dives to a maximum depth of 45 meters (150 feet) with a maximum of 10 minutes of planned decompression, using Helitrox (helium-enriched nitrox) with a maximum of 35% helium and no less than 20% oxygen.

What You’ll Learn

This course covers:

Benefits of helium in deep CCR diving – reducing narcosis and improving gas density for easier breathing
Gas selection and management – using trimix blends with up to 35% helium and no less than 20% oxygen for decompression
Advanced decompression theory – optimizing ascent profiles and gas switches
CCR-specific dive planning – calculating oxygen setpoints, gradient factors, and gas reserves
Emergency procedures – handling hypoxia, hyperoxia, CO₂ buildup, system failures, and bailout planning
Loop volume management and buoyancy control – perfecting trim and control at depth
Executing planned decompression dives – extending bottom time while maintaining safety, with a maximum of 10 minutes of required decompression

Course Details

Max Depth: 45 meters / 150 feet
Max Deco: 10 minutes of planned decompression

Prerequisites (choose one pathway):

  • Minimum age 18

  • Provide proof of 50 logged dives (If completing a unit crossover, provide proof of 10 logged CCR dives in the last 12 months)

  • Minimum certification level of TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver, Decompression Procedures Diver, or Helitrox Diver (or equivalent from agencies recognized by TDI)

  • Provide proof of at least 5 logged staged decompression dives to a minimum depth of 30 meters (100 feet)

Or

  • Minimum age 18

  • TDI Air Diluent CCR Diver certification (or equivalent)

  • Minimum of thirty hours and thirty dives on the specific CCR unit.

  • Six months of CCR diving experience

Dives Included:

  • Minimum of 7 training dives, focusing on helium-based gas use, decompression planning, and bailout procedures

Certification Limitations:

  • Limited to Helitrox (maximum 35% helium, minimum 20% oxygen) as a diluent

  • Maximum of 10 minutes of planned decompression

Why Take This Course?

  • Reduce narcosis and gas density risks for safer, clearer thinking at depth

  • Learn helium gas management and staged decompression techniques

  • Train on one of the most capable CCR units for deep and technical diving

  • Build a solid foundation for full Trimix CCR diving

Upon successful completion, you’ll earn the TDI JJ-CCR Helitrox Diver certification, qualifying you to conduct planned decompression dives to 45m with a maximum of 10 minutes of deco using Helitrox blends
