The TDI Helitrox Diver course is designed for divers looking to take their technical diving further by incorporating helium-based breathing gases. This course is an alternative to the TDI Decompression Procedures course, allowin divers to reduce narcosis while performing planned decopression dives to a maximum depth of 45 meters (150feet) using helium-enriched nitrox blends (Helitrox) with up to thirty-five percent helium and one hundred percent oxygen for decompression.
This course covers:
Benefits of helium in deep diving, including reduced narcosis and improved mental clarity
Gas selection and the use of trimix blends with up to thirty-five percent helium one hundred percent oxygen
Decompression theory, including gas loading, off-gassing, and optimal ascent strategies
Stage cylinder rigging, gas switching, and handling multiple gases
Dive planning using decompression tables, dive computers, and gas consumption calculations
Narcosis management and the effects of increased gas density at depth
Emergency procedures, including gas loss scenarios and handling oxygen toxicity risks
Max Depth: 45 meters / 150 feet
Prerequisites:
Minimum age 18
TDI Advanced Nitrox (or equivalent)
Dives Included: Minimum of six training dives focused on helium-based gas use, decompression procedures, and gas switching
Certification Limitations: Limited to planned decompression diving with Helitrox to 45m
