Curious about technical diving but not sure where to start? The TDI Intro to Tech course is designed to bridge the gap between recreational and technical diving, introducing you to the skills, mindset, and equipment used in advanced diving environments. This non-decompression course helps refine your buoyancy, trim, propulsion techniques, and gas management, setting the foundation for future technical training.

Through a combination of theory and in-water practice, you’ll develop better control, awareness, and efficiency, giving you the skills to transition smoothly into higher-level courses like Advanced Nitrox, Decompression Procedures, or Helitrox Diver.

What You’ll Learn

✅ Introduction to technical diving equipment – get familiar with the twinset configuration
✅ Trim and buoyancy control – optimizing body position for minimal effort and maximum efficiency
✅ Propulsion techniques – learning kicks like frog kick, back kick, and helicopter turns
✅ Gas management strategies – planning for gas reserves, consumption rates, and team awareness
✅ Situational awareness and dive planning – understanding decompression theory, equipment failure management, and problem-solving
✅ Team diving principles – communication, positioning, and emergency protocols

Course Details

Max Depth: No deeper than the student’s current certification level
Dives Included: Minimum of two training dives, focusing on buoyancy, trim, propulsion, and foundational tech diving skills

Prerequisites:

• Minimum age 18 (or 15 with parental consent)

• Open Water Diver certification (or equivalent)

• Minimum 25 logged dives
